Chris Romeo focuses his practice on helping people who have been injured by others, and regularly handles personal injury and wrongful death cases against corporations, governmental entities and individuals. Prior to co-founding the law firm of Romeo Deters, Chris was a partner at a distinguished law firm in South Carolina and has cultivated a well-deserved reputation as a skilled trial lawyer and litigator, known for his unwavering commitment and diligence that consistently delivers outstanding outcomes for his clients. His courtroom ability is evident through a remarkable track record, which includes numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements.
Chris has been named to the Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023), which recognizes the nation’s top Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers under the age of 40 in each state, and “Super Lawyers - Rising Stars” (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025), as well as Charleston Business Magazine’s 2019 Best and Brightest 35 & Under.
Chris graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs, during which he also studied at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy. Chris later received his Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he attended on a full presidential scholarship, was an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law Review, and a coach of the school’s National Moot Court teams. After sitting for the bar, but prior to his practice in South Carolina, Chris served as an assistant public defender in North Carolina and represented clients for criminal charges ranging from trespass to Attempted Murder.
Chris now lives in Johns Island with his wife, Morgan, and their three children.
